I’m
pursuing the office of Commissioner to work on behalf of the
people of Medina County.
Our county is one of the leading growth areas of Ohio. We
must address the needs of our citizens in the most
cost-effective manner whether they are lifelong residents or
new arrivals.
Over 25 years of business experience from the factory floor
to the boardroom has taught me the importance of being a
good listener and actively work to resolve challenges. My
professional style enables me to forge partnerships through
effective communication while motivating people to work
towards a common goal.
Our citizens rightfully expect government leaders to act
with integrity and open, honest communication. Our citizens
young and old deserve a common sense leader who will give
them a voice. Our county has a rich history of honest work
ethic, strong education systems, and beautiful natural
resources. I will work hard to keep Medina County strong and
vibrant.
I request your support in electing me as your next Medina
County Commissioner.
The responsibilities of a
Commissioner
The board of Commissioners is
the legislative head of county government. The board
consists of three members who serve in staggered terms. Two
County Commissioners are elected in presidential elections
years and the third Commissioner in the gubernatorial
election two years later.
The Commissioners interact with all other elected officials
and county departments to perform administrative and fiscal
duties to coordinate all county operations.
The Board of Commissioners establishes and executes policy,
determines the annual appropriations and oversees all county
budgeting including the General Fund.
The Board of Commissioners holds title to and maintains all
County property and buildings, serves as the contracting
authority and provides County purchasing, personnel and
employee benefit administrative services. The Board of
Commissioners is the taxing and bond issuance authority and
signatory for all grant applications.
Commissioners provide services to the townships such as
building inspection, sanitary sewer and water services. The
Commissioners make decisions concerning annexations,
vacations and dedication of public roads in the townships.
Commissioners are charged with the care of the
disadvantaged, dependent and aged county residents through
the Department of Job & Family Services and the Medina
County Home.*
